The air in the Lower Ward was a thick reek of stinging charcoal smoke, heady with the savoury perfume of roasted lamb. Amidst the rhythmic clink-clink-clink of hammers on anvils and the persistent braying of pack donkeys, the glare of whitewashed buildings against the deep azure sky struck the eye with a blinding brilliance. Nearby, merchants haggled with frantic desperation, their voices rising like heat off the paving tiles.

And so it was as so it was so as we rode from Isengard in triumph, singing songs and riding our horses.  Then did the King Thèoden, say, ‘So be it!  The wicked Saramn is dead, and Rohan is safe!  Hurrah!’ and everyone cheered cheerfully.

In the south, the ships of the Corsairs were approaching. "The Corsairs of Umbar are coming!", men shouted, feeling that their doom was coming and Belfalas, Ethir, and Lebennin were taken. 

Meadwine and Meadowyn had before fought among the ranks, on foot. And the wars brought them to the lands further East, to Gondor. There the two fought side by side in many  battles and they were a fearsome two, potent soldiers upon the front.
