Moria, Whispers in the Darkness Part One

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Authors Note: These posts finally try to explain what Narali heard in Moria. She if you surmised and rightly guessed, she heard much more that she said.  They are done in first person and so the only person named is Narali. And as a visual clues the truths told by the ancestors are italic while the lies, are bolded italic, to highlight the emphasis. For all my stalwart, brave and kind companions, you know who are and for that I am grateful.

To Rûndis, my Moonlight,

I understand now why they call it Moria. They were right, all of them who told us not to come. But it is far too late now, we have delved too deep.

Frimsi brought a ring. A cursed ring. Cursed by the Nameless, by the source of the whispers that have been tormenting Narali since our arrival. Why did we not realise sooner? How did we not notice that the Expedition was cursed from the start?

The Brightest Depths

This entry was written by Kharsi.

Orc-Watch does not wake, nor does it sleep. There are always dwarves guarding every possible path and watching the darkness below. There is always someone sitting by the campfire, sharing stories in quiet whispers. There is always a boiling cauldron hanging above the fire, and a dwarf that is tending to it. The only change here seems to be us.

Riddles in the Hall

To Rûndis, my moonlight,

I am growing weary of this place. The darkness gnaws at my soul, and the constant watch drains my spirits. I had not realised how much this place was affecting me until we reached the great mirror of Jazârgund, and I bathed in its light.

It was just as I was pondering these thoughts that Eldanith arrived. Garfi was the first to notice her presence.

“Good morning, Strongheart, Garfi” the elf greeted.

“Ah! Eldanith! Good morning” I responded. “Apologies, I was lost in thought.”

Into the Fire

To Rûndis, my Moonlight,

Today did not go as expected. Still in awe at the glorious halls of Khazad-dûm, it took us great effort to find our bearings and continue with our mission.

To Rûndis, my Moonlight,

We have had some interesting last few days. As you know, a short while ago we arrived in Rivendell, our last stop before leaving the Caravan towards Eregion. We were all very excited to set off on this last leg of our journey, especially young Kharsi. That boy’s enthusiasm is almost overwhelming!
