Parthadan, the Warden of the Green of Minas Tirith, and Captain Beregond of the Third Company left the Citadel separately, but were reunited at the foot of the stairs to the Sword-Gate. From there they walked north, towards The Wheel and Cask tavern in the northernmost part of Minas Tirith.

Imbolc

Imbolc ("in the belly") marks he beginning of the lambing season. Brigid, daughter of the Dagda, who provides special protection for domesticated animals, is honoured on this day.

Bryony slowly made her way to her father's favourite fishing spot. It was quiet, rarely visited by other hobbits because of the bears that sometimes graced that area of the river. Bryony never understood fearing such creatures of the forest. Leaving them quite alone and not bothering them usually stopped any sensible hobbit from getting bitten.

Bryony peered out of her bedroom window, the afternoon sun hidden by deep grey clouds and sputtering rain. Her siblings had all gone off hunting for frogs, leaving her and Yorric in peace for once. A strand of lightning lit the sky for a brief moment, before a rumble was heard in the distance. She could swear that she still could hear the baying of wolves far out.
