On the threshold of Winter when Durin's Day is upon us once more, the view from the side of the Mountain ought to inspire anyone in their future works.

After spending weeks setting up trade deals with the dwarves of Erebor, the old restlessness has started to haunt Duncadda again. The urge to return to the mark, has turned his mood darker. To avoid confrontation with their host, he has withdrawn to Dale and spends most of his time in solitary, awaiting words from his shield brother Waelden, regarding their return to Bancross.

The merry fellowship of dwarves and men finally met this journey's end in the deep halls of Erebor, and after a wondrous tour over many a stair and stone, a feast awaited for the long-legged guests in the Hall Under the Mountain.

Much drink and cheer were shared as new and old friendships blossomed and prospered, and the clash of so distant cultures led to many a heartfelt laugh and woken interest between the different folks.

Leaving the town of Dale behind, there is but a short ride through the last patch of wilderness before reaching Erebor, and the far-away mountain only seems to grow taller and taller with each step they take towards it...

Danel closed her eyes. "She asks too high a price for her gems. I will not pay."

For a moment Estarfin was silent. Then he said. "But you need them?"

"Not at an unnecessary threat to our lives."

He shrugged. I knew well what the expression on his face meant. We would search for the Dragon.

As they approach the front gates of Erebor, for a very short meeting with a Jewel-smith known to Danel, Estarfin reminds her that he likes the Naugrim 'not at all'. Both, however, are courteous to those they encounter.

A company of dwarves from the Blue Mountains Regiment arrange to meet with Lord Ironjaw of the Iron Hills Regiment and his herald in their embassy in Erebor, under the Lonely Mountain.
