Of dwarves and men in Erebor - In the shadow of the mountain

The merry fellowship of dwarves and men at long last arrive at their destination - the Lonely Mountain, or Erebor as it is also known.

The sight that meets the unknowing and not so well-travelled people of Rohan is astounding indeed; for there be an entrance into the mountain carved with such intricate detail and exquisite craftsmanship, that they can scarcely believe their very eyes. Everywhere they turn, they see finest black marble with carvings inlaid with gold and silver, and the stone form endless stairs and pillars, and deep blue embroidered banners flow neatly beside the gates.

Whatever great peril and dreaded dragons once befell upon this place, the hardy dwarves have now certainly restored much of Erebor to its former glory, and it is said they are still digging, building and expanding their halls deep inside the mountain.

What other great wonders await within its walls?
