We did little in those first few days. We slept a lot. Parnard slept a lot that we saw him less frequently than usual, but Marawendi brought word he was still eating and drinking.

Baths were in order. I had quite a few before I felt totally clean again. Even so, there was the fainest of hints of something unnatural 'lingering'?  A sense of being watched that no amount of water would wash away.

'At the Sign of the Prancing Pony' (Every Saturday, 3:00 PM)

This Week's (September 27, 2025) Hook:,

Barliman is wroth!

On this Commons Day, sounds of clattering earthenware and boisterous curses can be heard from the Pony’s kitchen… and, when they are not, a very red and angry Barliman Butterbur blusters through the inn’s common room, muttering, grumbling, and growling.

Bree Commons Day (Every Saturday, 3:00 PM)

Bree Commons Day

Each Stersday marks the beginning of the Bree week, when its shops and markets open to the public. “Commons Day”, the Bree-folk call it—though few now recall why. Old wives of Bree say it comes from the tradition of inns opening their common rooms to weary shoppers and workfolk seeking rest or a tall draught of beer after a full Sterday.

Escape

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

It was not difficult to escape that night. At midnight Lord Nodron and all the household servants were fast asleep. Tilyh simply walked out of the townhouse. She took her satchel packed full of clothes and walked the short distance from Lord Nodron’s house to the house of Lady Meldis.

A Troubled Homecoming

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

In slumber, a Wood-Elf’s mind often conjures up memories of moonlit glades, and the mind of Parnard was no exception. His dreams were not of dark twisted trees of the blighted Greenwood, but of peaceful green forests filled with the smell of fresh pine and damp earth, and colorful birds darting through the leaves, singing joyful songs.

Beannaithe the Dwarf Lass

'Good evenin', me wee darlin's. Are ye ready to hear more of Beannaithe's tale?' I asked me grandchildren not long before their bedtime.

'Aye,' said Diolun.

When Dís, the sister of Thorin Oakenshield, first met Beannaithe she gave the lass an outfit that she'd worn when she were much younger--and smaller.

'We look like sisters,' said the old Dwarf dame with a grin. Beannaithe, adopted daughter of Fikta the Tinker, giggled. She hoped her beard would look as fine as Dís' when it finally grew in.

Numenstaya

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

We turned into the grounds of Númenstáya to a call from above, a hail from Filignil at her lookout point. “Oh, welcome, welcome back!” she cried, then lowering her bow, turned to run along the ridge to meet us. The sky was at that beautiful point just before dawn, when the eastern edges of our view, over the houses and further hills, were outlined with a pale rose-gold glow.
