Betrayal

This poem was not Aurthiel's writing, but the writing of her former lover, Alasornaion. While investigating and clearing his possessions, investigating his treason, this poem had been found, written in Sindarin and hidden away. Not only did the poem convict him guilty, but it explained his reasons for what he had done. Aurthiel always kept the poem with her, even wrote music to it and performed to herself.

Aurthiel played this song for her daughter, then known as her niece, while training her in Eriador.

I don't know.

Can I ever love again?

Why would he do this?

I just don't understand.

She approached as I was leaving the shop. It was sunny, I was happy. I don't remember her name. 

She slept with Tim. Tim and her slept together. I don't blame her. She didn't know of me till after I think. I can't remember too well. How he could do this. How?  Why? I loved him! He said he loved me! We were married! We have a baby!

How much can change in a week's time? The meadhall of Walstow used to be a place where the fighters drank and feasted with their thane yet no mead has flown in days. Every spill has been cleaned, every table has been polished and every happy drunk now needs to drink at home. Tidhelm smiled to himself when he gazed around the interior of the meadhall. The old noble couldn't keep himself from speaking out loud:"Winsig should take council with the reeve more often!

It seems as though I was wrong to not blame Lady Hughes for the actions of Osdegul, the Lieutenant of her Mercenaries, and now 'tis too late for me to save those she has murdered.  If only I had acted sooner, If I had arrested her, then Kerl might still be alive.

But I didn't

I was a fool.

I trusted her.

And when Hector Worthenine, leader of her band of mercenaries, attacked Sir Kerl and Milada outside the Prancing Pony, the doubts began to creep back in.  

The hollow sound of the hooves on the ground echoed as the rider sped through the Wold. Having just left Belfa, Eorran's mind raced to the beloved he left behind. His decision came with a heavy heart, to leave Belfa and join the fight -the real fight- against the enemy of his homeland.

Author's note: I have started writing down the happenings of the journey of the Kinn-Lai to offer a different view from Timandhris' work. I have had to, of course, give the gist of the happenings only, as even this is a lot to write down, let alone write out every single detail, much though I would like to!
