The Black Steel stuck outside the gate into Garth Agarwen. There was no visible way to open it. Mornenion almost single-handedly, with some help from Arthasdir and Boreon managed to find a hidden lever in the rock to open it.

The Gate of Feanor, more commonly known in the 3rd Age as the Door of Durin, forms the entrance to the ancient dwarven city of Khazad-dum, that has long since been overrun by goblins and orcs. Now it is named Moria - meaning "dark pit" - by the elves, as it is no longer a shining cultural hub, but a dark tomb for the dwarves and their folly - Durin's Bane. It is commonly heard, that they "delved too greedily, and too deep" for mithril when they unearthed the Balrog of Morgoth, and rightfully so. The Dwarves may be great miners and blacksmiths...
