Eyes of the North

It appears that another few pages of the journal had been ripped out, perhaps the Author was not happy with discussing the events of the battle, though it was apparent that he had suffered several injuries, the handwriting was messier than usual and the Author talked of his blade with a slight fear and concern.

I'm alive... This much I can say for certain, while we have found ourselves victorious over the enemy, I can not say for certain that we had won outright... Orcs are cruel and vicious creatures and made sure they murdered plenty or burned a few things before the day was through.

This is a bad business! But we're not the only ones in it... We were lucky to have reached the Angle when we did, for we came across a pack of Goblins attacking the outer walls which were hastily barricaded in fast defence. If we tarried any longer on the journey here, I fear the folk of the Angle would have been overrun...

* Several pages of the journal seemed to be carelessly ripped out, though what was apparent by reading the next few pages still intact was that The Author and his company had passed through the Lone Lands and travelled through the Trollshaws and ended up taking refuge in Rivendell, for what purpose was yet unknown or otherwise was intentionally left out of the journal... *

*Arostir's quarters were barren and empty, all his equipment and gear he took with him and there was no sign of the man anywhere. The only thing that was found was a curious brown envelope on the end of his bed... Arostir appeared to have taken little thought of stamping the note or even addressing it to anyone.*

*The crumbled brown piece of paper contained on it strange scripture... But upon closer inspection, it was clear that this was just Arostir's usual untidy scrawl*

Each day I feel like I'm closer to leaving this world but each time something keeps me from falling and instead I lie injured for awhile.
I am tired of this pain but I have no choice but to continue, for the Free People.

After the last attack on the Angle we laid traps to prepare since if they have found us once then there is no mistake they will find us again and sadly we were right.

I almost forgot about my journal.

We've been in Rivendell for some time now. I can't rightfully say how long but Thorontir assures me that he is keeping track of the passage of time here since it is easy to forget.

After stopping the envoy from reaching their destination we returned to Ost Guruth and there we happened upon more we have now named companions, Estenthel and Vaedairon have taken to aiding us. Both of whom we found within the keep of the Eglains.

It has been a long time since I've felt like a child but the feeling returned as I stepped into the grand halls of the Blue Mountains, Thorin's Hall.

Should anyone ever ask me what a dwarf is made of then I shall reply, endurance.
