Origin of Insanity: Part II

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Rain pattered against the window providing the only source of sound that night. The house was dark, no fire was lit for it was late evening. A woman lay within her bed curled up fast asleep, shivering slightly due to the chill outside. Next to her sat a cot, it swayed slightly as the cold wind squeezed through the gaps on walls around the room. There was no child within it, for the child was still to be born, yet there it stood looking slightly eerie in the dark prepared for the arrival.

Erian's birth...

Daigan touched the manes of his horse as he allowed her to drink from a fountain. His company was relaxing on the courtyard. Or well, company. These were all sturdy, battle hardened men, but nobody knew. They were invisible to the common man living his very, boring, common life. Everyone was scattered around the place. Perhaps a few gathered together to share some words, yet it didn't seem like an organised bunch.

''I woke up once more, bathing in sweat. They just brought me breakfast and told me to relax for a bit, we wouldn't be leaving for a while. I asked him why, but he just walked away. What was going on? This was the first time they didn't tell me to make haste. Something must have happened last night, but what? If we were discovered, they would've woken me up when I slept.

Drevorin was lost within a dream which at the time deceived his mind into thinking it was reality. He was standing upon a small hill bare-footed, twiddling his toes within the grass. It was summer so naturally his clothes were fit for the occasion. He felt a strong eastern breeze wash over him as he stared out into a field which held a small house sending smoke from its chimney. He blinked as he heard a voice cry his name, for in those days it was different. A pale raven-haired woman could be seen beckoning him to come to the house, he smiled.

''Night is falling, so I can only write untill the light dims. They got me past those highwaymen with fair ease, but I can still hear them scream as my guardians fell them with their blades. It was quite a horrifying sound. We've reached the borders of Rhovanion. I am little aware of how we got here this fast as I did not have time to pay attention to where we were headed, but today they told me where we were. None of them have told me their names, though all six of them seem equally skilled with blade and bow. I wonder if they work for the same people as I do?

''Today I woke up with a terrible headache. Did I have another one of my nightmares? I don't know... They seem so real lately.. Perhaps they are trying to tell me something. I found another letter, slipped underneath my door. I recognized the seal immediately, would I have to leave once more? It was a dark red, wax seal. The image displayed in the wax was that of two swords crossing one another, with an eagle behind it spreading It's wings. Did he enjoy his power? Does he abuse it? He has no care for our own physical and weary state. Why would he, we're his puppets after all.

The Lay of Elena - An extract

Poetry
The Lay of Elena is written upon a parchment held in the Room of Records upon the Third level of the White City. The lay is written in Sindarin, although the dialect is, apparently, of a form uncommon. Only the following passage has yet been translated and the historians have, as yet, been unable to associate the verse with any known historical record or figure. As eagles fly from the mountain, The wanderer finds a new path, Under the stars of twilight, To Evendim's shores of the north, How far has the wanderer come? How long is the road behind?
