The days were going by quickly, yet taking an eternity to pass. Daph had lost the ability to recall just how long she'd been a captive by now. She reckoned it was just as well, since remembering would likely only serve to depress her.

"I don't understand why you want to leave, after all I've done for you."

Some time had passed since Daphne learned the identity of her captor, yet her mind was still reeling. It made no sense, and he decided to follow his dramatic, cliché manner of handling the situation and disappeared after “the big reveal”.

Needless to say, Daph was neither pleased, nor amused.
