The Horn of Faldham

Waelden and the Horn of Faldham; one of his prized possessions and ever a hope in the darkness. Many are the horns given out to veteran warriors and heralds as a token of courage and valour, and its sound is well known through the Norcrofts.

Of the war-horns of Rohan - Faldham

…thus the heralds sounded the Horns of Faldham; and they rang long and loud across the fields, to awaken and bolden the hearts of men, and bring despair and ruin upon their foes. Where cries of war were heard, there were also the horns blasting and trumpeting, echoing the cries of pain with the sound of hope and victory.

There they rode together as a spearhead made of men and horses; their golden-hilted swords unsheathed, and their banners swaying proudly in the wind, tied to tall spears pointing towards the blood-red sky.

“At last, Faldham has come!”, a man upon the field cried out as blood seeped from his forehead, and his sword-arm twisted and broken. With naught but blood and dread before his eyes, death and despair was near to his heart; yet he heard the horns and knew them, and their sound filled him again with hope, giving him the voice of victory.
