Hûd Eledhrim - Hall of Fire Wednesday (Elf roleplay)
February 19th, 2020
Every Wednesday when the moon begins its journey above Arda. (3PM servertime; and for players over the wide sea, 8PM. To find the correct time type /servertime while in-game.)
Hall of Fire, Last Homely House, Rivendell
"O! Will you be staying, or will you be flying?
Your horses are straying! The daylight is dying!
To fly would be folly, to stay would be jolly
And listen and hark till the end of the dark to our tune
"A Elbereth Gilthoniel
Silivren penna míriel
O menel aglra elenath!...
...Fanuilos, le linnathon
Nef aear, sí nef aearon!"
"You may happen to hear an echo such as this in the air, of words spoken around the herth, the sound shapes itself into pictures in the heads of those who listen by virtue of the fair voices belonging to the Eldar. In the house of Lord Elrond you shall find a cure for weariness, fear and sadness, food, sleep, story-telling or singing, or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all.
Every seven turns of the days, when the moon begins its journey above Arda the Eldar gather in the Hall of Fire to exchange the latest tidings regarding our realm. Elf-minstrels play music and sing of the stars, of Valinor, of other Elven lands from the present and from times past, hymns to Elbereth and yet more; scholars and poets recount the renowned tales of the Elder Days and original stories of others; Elven-maidens and Elf-princes dance, converse and forge friendships. A fine evening indeed, one you may have the pleasure of attending should your travels bring you in the Valley of Imladris"

This is a role play event inspired by the times of mirth and joy the Elves had as we read in Many Meetings from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Elves loved music, poetry and tales and though the Hall of Fire stood empty and quiet during most days, it seems that at nights it was given over to the singing of songs and telling of tales. This vision is what the event aims to reflect. Contribute as you can, and as little or much as you wish.
Although other races are not turned away in the Last Homely House, this is first and foremost an Elf-event. So come -both learned and beginners- in hope that we may unite the Elf-role players in LotRO, once a week and every week; and evoke a wondrous elvish enviroment for all of us to immerse in and build IC friendships which may last for countless days.
A few reminders for this event:
Please stay In Character as much as possible.
Be polite and courteous to those around you.
Keep music and song within the spirit of the lore.
Please leave animal companions and weapons outside of the Hall.
