The Third Wind – Part Two – Assault in the Wilds of Dunland

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Night has fallen and on the hilltop among thick trees the camp lies in conniving silence. Watchmen walk the perimeter of the grounds, unseen, while the wounded lie in well earned rest. There is a thick cloth covering around the woman’s hip, a shimmer of light red in the dark, as her breast heaves in troubled feverish dream. Tuilinneth in her hand clutches the arrowhead, removed from her flesh mere hours earlier.

In those days no other Men had settled dwellings so far west, or within a hundred leagues of the Shire. But in the wild lands beyond Bree there were mysterious wanderers. The Bree-folk called them Rangers, and knew nothing of their origin. They were taller and darker than the Men of Bree and were believed to have strange powers of sight and hearing, to and understand the languages of beasts and birds. They roamed at will southwards, and eastwards even as far as the Misty Mountains; but they were now few and rarely seen.

"Forty leagues it stretched from the Far Downs to the Brandywine Bridge, and fifty from the northern moors to the marshes in the south. The Hobbits named it the Shire, as the region of the authority of their Thain, and a district of well-ordered business; and there in that pleasant corner of the world they plied their well-ordered business of living, and they heeded less and less the world outside where dark things moved, until they came to think that peace and plenty were the rule in Middle-earth and the right of all sensible folk.

Time to move!

Story

The man finally reached Esteldin on foot, he lost about five hours playing hide and seek with the orcs and the men that were after him. Now he was covered in blood and exhausted, yet, he reached the settlement. He had to be cunning and take them out before they'd return and report him bearing these news, they would expect the Rangers and all would be lost. He held the reins of his loyal steed as he entered the ruined gate of the settlement and kept going on. The two men on watch noticed that he was panting and approached him at once, one took the reins and the other spoke.

Sigfread says, 'Stand up...'
Sigfread shifts in his emotion. He appears to be somewhat angry perhaps. It is not quite sure
Hithfaerwen did so, letting out a small sigh. She turned to face him, showing the familar face, the green-grey eye, and the scar on the right side of her face. It ran from her hairline to her jaw, covering her eye, which was a pale white. She forgoes the eyepatch.
Sigfread says, 'So... What game is this? Whom sends you?'
