Life Lessons and Sayings as Learned by a Hobbit

Author:
Angyles

A recollection of wise sayings that the Hobbit, Angyles, has picked up over her life.  Whether through family, war, friends, or enemies.

Perhaps Not That Dance, Hiril

Oft does an ellon in love request to be taught how to dance, and Branalph of the Hammer is, indeed, an ellon in love, as he has but recently admitted to himself. Lady Manadhlaer thus attempts to instruct him. Ai! A quick glance at the face of the brave warrior reveals that her attempts are merely baffling. Perhaps this is a job for a greater expert in the art, and Lady Ealendil must be called in.

The Silly Lad

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Poetry
A silly hobbit once had heard
The life was lovely as a bird
And so he thought that he would see
If he could fly amongst the trees

He climbed a tree, and jumped, and found
That he fell quickly to the ground
He gained a lump upon his head
And spent all of the week in bed

And there he dreamed that he could be
A little buzzing bumblebee
He saw a life amongst the flowers
Just buzzing all around for hours

Awiergan in a Dress!

Some friends he has. They grab him, hold him still and force a dress on him. However he should be grateful! They are giving him a chance to explore his feminine side...but deep, deep inside they really love him.

A Silly Poem

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Poetry

I wrote a silly poem
To read it out to you
I hope it brings a smile
For silly poems do

It's only got six verses
Each one has four short lines
So if I read it quickly
It shouldn't take much time

I wrote it out last evening
Whilst lying on my bed
I grabbed a quill and paper
And wrote what's in my head.

The Wolf-Whacker of Budgeford

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Over the years, Doddy had done many things for payment, food, or lodging.  Nothing of a dark or questionable nature to be sure - but when it came to working the farmlands of the Shire, Doddy Stump had done it all.  Or, so he thought.
