Today, I crossed paths with that sulky, mysterious ellon who ruined our first day back in Duillond. He must be some patrol, always pacing this way and that way, down to the stablemaster, up to the market, and so on.
Oh, there really is nothing quite like a home-coming. When I at last passed through the verdant pastures of the periannath and into the land of graceful blossoming trees, I knew I was home at last. I could hear the lull of the sea not too far off, the branches drooped lower to shake hands with me, and the shore wind rushed through the grass to hasten me further yet.
I brought my sister the hunting leathers I hemmed in for her and watched her change. I could not help but feel a coal of jealously ignite in my heart. Traveling was something I have always dreamed of and now she's going to the mountains. The Blue Mountains, I've heard the dwarves speak of them in reverence and I dreamed of their icy peaks and biting winds, the hidden coves and trickling waterfalls.
Once again I sit here and watch the sun go up over Gondamon.Eredian have finally gotten some rest, his head laying heavily in my lap, being sound asleep. It warms my heart to see him relaxed. I took the watch last night, finding it impossible to be able to sleep after what I saw today.I doubt I will ever forget the creatures that came at us after we had come across a place that not only felt eery, but also had something evil looming over it.
Again it has been some days since I wrote in this book, as if I need to collect my thoughts before I put them into writing.I'm sitting in Gondamon, at the top of the stairs, looking down over the entrance. It's at the crack of dawn and the first vendors have just arrived below me, I'm watching them setting up their stalls and placing their goods on the tables.I think I will try and draw the scene when I'm done writing this.
Eredian is once again reminded of home, as he explores the small fields of ice that are dotted around northern Ered Luin. He pauses, and takes a moment to rest, and think about how far he has come.
