Once again I sit here and watch the sun go up over Gondamon.Eredian have finally gotten some rest, his head laying heavily in my lap, being sound asleep. It warms my heart to see him relaxed. I took the watch last night, finding it impossible to be able to sleep after what I saw today.I doubt I will ever forget the creatures that came at us after we had come across a place that not only felt eery, but also had something evil looming over it.
Arthasdir, Eredian and myself was forced to run for our lives as we were spotted by the dwarves of Kheledul. As they poured out of the gate to try and get to us, we found it best to quickly mount our steeds and disappear out of their sight.Following some information we had gotten from the more friendly dwarves in Gondamon we headed north, only to soon hear something that resembled chanting. What we came upon was a circle of stones, crowned by a large white stone in the middle. As soon as the creatures saw us, they disappeared in a hurry. As we drew nearer we found a piece of armor on the ground, covered in blood. Not a moment after Arthasdir had picked it up, came a horrifying shriek from an old ruin close by and out poured several undead, attacking us.For a moment I stood frozen, finding myself eye to eye with something I had only read about in old scrolls, and had quickly dismissed as untrue tales. After this, everything is clouded in my mind, and I do not remember more than that I stood there looking at corpses on the ground, their heads separated from their bodies, swords still in my hand.
We had quickly moved on, making our way back to Gondamon when we had spotted some dwarves, dragging a cart behind them.Following them, we happened upon a camp hidden between the mountain sides.Curious as to what the cart may contain, we had to force ourselves into the camp, taking down any dwarves that may come in our way.I must say that Eredian and Arthasdir was finally given the opportunity to show their bow skills, and I was most impressed! We finally came upon a dwarf that seemed to be their leader, clad in heavy armour and it took the three of us to take him down, and not without loss of our own blood.
As we searched the camp, a letter was found and we took that with us before we hastily departed to finally make our way back to Gondamon for a well deserved rest.Arthasdir have the letter, and will give it to Fiontann as we return to the hall, hopefully by later today, or tomorrow.
I cannot write more of this, the sights I've seen will haunt me for a while, and I care to put that behind me and look for the future instead.Thinking about the future makes me smile, perhaps I will get to spend some more time with Eredian, I know we both want it, especially after the brief conversation we had before he fell asleep. It makes me smile to think about the confessions we both made.
