Contract

I had arrived at the meeting room with a smile upon my face. I was thinking about that butter cake that Annii had sold me while I was at the bakery. I do need to remind myself to not bring Gruff in bakerys or inns. I left Gruff outside of the building, as I thought that to be wise.

The air was filled with early Spring's breeze, warm and refreshing. Askelin, Ealstan and I arrived first, with Arindiis coming in last atop her steed.

A dwarf knocked on the door, three loud bangs. 

"Maiden Ynel, an urgent letter of the The Longbeard Engineering Corps.... Conditions of Service!" he said in a hurry, "Master Kandral expects word from you at your earliest convenience!".

As soon as Ynel opened the door the thick scroll was pushed into her hands and before she could say anything the dwarf was off again.

Deed of Contract of Assassination

I have always been of the mind that a contract is just a contract. However, yesterday I was speaking to Ellae in the Prancing Pony, lovely lass, we were speaking about our latest contract and it seemed as if she did not understand what I do.. or did not want to understand. I consider her a friend, but maybe she does not really understand what I am and how can you not know a friend of yours. She did not understand that I might actually have to draw a little blood to pull off my work from time to time. When I said they were 'marked', she did not understand what that meant.
