The Little Battle of the Five Armies

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

The day of reckoning had finally come. The journey had been long. The blood of Westernesse had spilt the soil and sons were lost.

The lust for vengeance wrung Thorontir's heart as he led the force he had assembled. A vengeance forged in the blood of his kinsfolk and friends. He wore a second rayed star on his chest, unlike his own not burdened with the years of grime, but with the blood of a young man that lingered in his mind though it had long since been washed away.

This chronicle is an effort to document and bring some organization to hîril Ealendil's expedition to the bay of Belfalas, and beyond. It will evolve slowly as more drawings, and, hopefully, written accounts are gathered.

A small gathering in Hûd i Eledhrim, and a wondrous time for story-telling and music.

While waiting for dawn to break, giving light to treacherous paths down into the lower vales of Ered Luin, Nunheryn plays music full of sorrow… and I… I dance of joy beneath the stars while tears slowly trickle down my cheeks. Ai! Such are the simple pleasures of life: music, dancing, laughter … and the stars.

Amarth faeg! Where have goblins found this Torog? Somehow they have managed to goad it to go rampaging down into the lower vales. The goblins are spiteful creatures, and this deed will not go unpunished! Nunheryn, my "gardener", helps me to put down the mindless beast.

The Glamrim, the goblin tribes, of Ered Luin are usually not a bother, but somehow a bold chieftain has united a few of them and began making forays into the lower vales of Ered Luin. Several of the more isolated households have been troubled and there is a need to assess just how well organized they are. Nunheryn, my "gardener", has accompanied me up into the high passes to survey the situation. He is a boon as companion on journeys such as this one.

Nunheryn, my gardener, is showing off this year’s yield of grapes in the Vineyard. He is very smug, that insufferable scoundrel, but he has an almost surreal knack for nurturing those vines.

Nan aear adh in elin, it does look like I will finally be able to pay for much needed repairs on the old family house.

Lindon, Ered Luin, River Lhûn and south-eastern vales… Home. It is marvelous to be back after weeks and days on the road. Trees still in full bloom greet me, and I can’t stop tears of joy trickle down my cheeks as I near my old family house.

Hopefully, just hopefully, this year’s yield of grapes will be enough to pay for the upcoming winter repairs. The good Naugrîm of Thrain’s vale do charge a lot, but their workmanship is incomparable.
