The following is a loose page from a larger journal, belonging to Ren, describing his experiences with the Avorrim, just over a week before the blockade of Dol Amroth by the Heirs of Castamir.
Once a harbour for last journeys, abandoned for a thousand years after Amroth's tragedy, thanks to a few Elves' care now Edhellond blooms with flowers as a new age dawns
Sat upon the docks, the elleth pulled an old piece of parchment from the folds of her robe. She was surprised somebody still cared about the tradition of the lanterns. On the parchment was written short poem, half of it seemingly ripped away; lost lore of a time when the name Edhellond meant a living, breathing community and not a pile of rubble. With voice no louder than a whisper she recited, as the flower-lanterns made their way down the river:
With the rain or with the sun, she always spent a moment at the docks to remember her lost love. Now, se stands there one more time, to say her final farewell. Even though she wished to stay, the passing of time got to her. The sky is clouded, like her heart.
"Namarie, Edhellond, my home which gave me the best memories of my life, and the worst. Namarie, husband dear. We shall meet again, across the waters that separate us. I go find my peace of mind"
It will be a short travel to deliver materials and a letter to Mithlond, Celonion said. "Wait for me". It was a sunny morning and the waves were calm in the little moor right Edhellond.
"I will wait here". She waved and watched as the elven ship sailed far from her sight. It was a beautiful morning, blue sky, blue sea and little to no clouds. He would have been back from the travel in little time.
This chronicle is an effort to document and bring some organization to hîril Ealendil's expedition to the bay of Belfalas, and beyond. It will evolve slowly as more drawings, and, hopefully, written accounts are gathered.
Travelling further east from Edhellond, hîril Ealendil pauses at the banks of river Gilrain on the southern slopes of Ered Nimrais. The surroundings are breathtaking and the peacefulness a balm for weary spirits. Oh, how she longs to remain forever… "Was it here Nimrodel tarried so long ago, missing the ship that would have taken her and Amroth across the sea…", she wonders.
Just south of the abandoned elven port Edhellond, hîril Ealendil pauses, her gaze drawn west across the great sea towards the Undying Lands… "Was in it in these waters Amroth met his fate so long ago…", she muses. With a pang in her heart she suddenly misses her mother.
