Chronicle Content

"In the beginning of this age many of the High Elves still remained. Most of these dwelt in Lindon west of the Ered Luin; but before the building of the Barad-dûr many of the Sindar passed eastward, and some established realms in the forests far away, where their people were mostly Silvan Elves."
      - The Lord of the Rings, Appendix B, "The Second Age"

In his childhood Feveren hearkened to many songs and tales of the Elder Days, but closest to his heart were the those of fair Beleriand and the Elves thereof who fled its ruin in the War of Wrath. For among their number were Elves of Doriath, the Iathrim, who mingled thereafter with the Lindi (the Laegrim or Green-elves) of Ossiriand, his kin, and from whom sprang Faethurin, his friend and love-brother.
But the tales told also of those who forsook the Elf-havens of Lindon and removed east of Ered Luin to dwell amongst the Silvan Elves, the Tawarwaith, who were also offshoots of the Nandor of old; thus a yearning was kindled in his young heart to behold these far distant realms of his long-lost kindred, ere his people pass forever over the Sea into the Uttermost West.

Within this chronicle are collected various tales of both Feveren's youth in Eryn Milbar, the greenwood of Harlindon, and his journey of discovery across Middle-earth, together with sundry excerpts from his own handwritten journal: an account of his adventure and the fulfilment of a promise made to Faethurin ere his friend's departure for Tol Eressëa.
Yet for a young Green-elf but lately come of age and venturing for the first time into the wide world beyond his sheltered woodland home, Feveren may well learn as much of himself as he does of his kin of old.

"The Silvan Elves had invented no forms of writing, and those who learned this art from the Sindar wrote in Sindarin as well as they could."
  - Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-earth, "Appendix A, The Silvan Elves and Their Speech"
