Two unexpected, but most welcome, visitors arrive within a short time of each other. The first, Earcalie of Forlindon is an acquaintance of Danel's from her recent time in Imladris. More than acquaintance really, as the older elleth looks upon the lively, curious younger one with favour and hopes for a happy future.
The second, Hingalas the Ropemaker of Mithlond, is an old friend of both Danel and Parnard. He arrives reminding the others that he was invited to their Autumn Festival, but could not attend then so is visiting now.
With the rest of the household on patrol or keeping watch, and Barahirn still restricted mostly to a bed. Danel and Parnard offer what food and wine they have, and explain the state of their small homestead. They also ask after Naergon, a member of the Order of the Hammer, as is Estarfin.
