Background
The wanderers are a ragtag band of all types, who seem to have been brought together by fate or happenstance more than anything else. Within their midst are daring luck-seekers, valorous warriors, grizzled mercenaries, hunters, minstrels and highwaymen. Many flock to join their ranks, as they oft happen upon adventure or other promising enterprise.
Ceaselessly the wanderers roam Eriador, walking hither and thither - now on an epic quest to thwart some malicious plot, now hurrying to the nearest inn to drink their fill and rest their weary feet.
The wilds are often cold and lonely, but around the wanderers' fire there's always warmth and music and mirth. Though we come from many different places, we find comfort and peace of mind together amidst the chaos of the world.
Many a mystery lie in wait on this Middle earth. We find ourselves drawn to places of rich history and forgotten lore. Our scholars and loremasters search far and wide for weapons and spells wrought in the Elder days. We believe that the knowledge we've inherited is our chief instrument in our struggles for perseverance and freedom.
Some of us revel in combat, while others merely endure it. While we fly no banner and wear no coat of arms, we always stand together when the need is dire. Middle-earth can be a dangerous place for the unwary. Many a time we have found ourselves in the midst of battle, and thusly all recruits should be aware of the risks inherit to wandering the wilderlands.
Roads go ever on and on. Our paths take us here and there, but seldom home. We yearn for the adventure we know lies beyond the next hill, and thus our travels continue without halt. Riches and friendships are in store for those who join us.
(( Those Who Wander is a kinship that is partly dedicated to playing together on-level, doing instances and questing together, using the XP disabler from the lotro store, and partly dedicated to light-med RP focused in Eriador.
In-world the kin functions as a loosely tied together group of friends, rather than an actual organization. This means that there is no real structure of command or delegation of power down the ranks. The kinship does not have a military focus, nor is it completely 'civilian'. The IC presumption is that all it's members are travelers of one type or the other.
