Seregrian

The first thing I heard was the crashing of waves along the shoreline. The sound was hypnotizing but arrhythmic, no true pattern to be discerned as the ocean crests and falls. It soothes a longing in my soul. I heard the cries of seagulls as they flew overhead, sharp and piercing, but familiar.

           Seregrían stands alone at the gates of Caras Galadhon for a time, gazing along the trail where Bosi and the Galadhrim company departed for Moria.  She remains alone in her thoughts until a sudden breeze moves the boughs of the trees and shines golden upon the forest flo

When not on errantry from Master Elrond, or scouring the lands in search of lost lore, the Elf-scholar Seregrían will repair to her own private retreat, hidden near the banks of the River Lhun.

That evening, as Celeborn and Galadriel feast with their guests, they discuss with Seregrían and Bosi as to what needs to be done prior to their departure. It is plain that Bosi is not pleased at the prospect of returning to Moria alone, for Seregrían is to travel south and away to some far doom.

“We have tried to answer two questions, Scholar,” Galadriel says. “and now on to the third. If those who have been turned to the Shadow can be redeemed, and if you are convinced that Thandwen the Elf is now Gwathwethil the Morroval, then the third question is, what must be done?

“Narmeleth! Well indeed do I remember her,” Seregrían says. “I knew her during the time I dwelt in Eregion before its fall. She was the Forge-maid, one of the Mirdain, but she fell into shadow herself and became Amarthiel!”

The negotiations between the Galadhrim and the Iron Garrison are in progress and are almost immediately agreed upon. Celeborn has readily pledged a contingent of Elven archers to return to the Mines of Moria with Bosi, along with stock and provision for a prolonged siege. Bosi in turn provides the Elves with tidings of the progress in the Mines, and every priceless piece of news regarding the foes within.
