Proving Courage

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Gaildrin walked alone through the hills of the Ettenmoors. He heard of Orc companies moving under the cover of night through these lands, and decided to investigate these claims. He moved through the dark, tree covered hill with caution. His footsteps were quiet, though not the same silent steps of a ranger, or master hunter. Through long hours of walking and waiting, he patrolled the lands for sight of his prey, and finally was reward when he caught sight of the small light of a fire in the distance.

Diary

I have recently received this journal a long time ago as a sign of thanks from an old woman I have helped, now it felt like the time to use it...

Many moons have passed since my travels in Ennor have begun. Since I have left Gondor, my kingdom, where I grew up, since I journeyed to Eriador and put my blades and crafts to use there, since I begun fulfilling my role as a Ranger.

''We were ambushed in the middle of the afternoon... The orcs appeared from nowhere, and shortly after one of my guardians fell. He didn't make a kick, not a sound. It was like he didn't mind to die. Like he was ready for it. I wasn't wounded.. I fought, but I wasn't wounded.. They kept me from getting wounded.. I insisted we would bury him. He deserved atleast that.

''I woke up once more, bathing in sweat. They just brought me breakfast and told me to relax for a bit, we wouldn't be leaving for a while. I asked him why, but he just walked away. What was going on? This was the first time they didn't tell me to make haste. Something must have happened last night, but what? If we were discovered, they would've woken me up when I slept.
