We went ter stable the horses, an Guy an I walked a bit ahead, because Tolbold was doing that letting Henepa climb down him from his pony. We would be the first in the Inn, an welcome though we would be, we knew it was Henepa they wanted ter see. Henepa, alive and well, and then normality back with all the meals.

But all four of us had become friends on that journey. Good friends I hoped. I was glad ter see Guy didn't seem too broken hearted over Henepa an Tolbold. He was a good sort. I couldn't wait ter tell Sarno all about everything.

Home! I had never before felt so glad ter see it. Even though I had only been at The Bent Elbow for a short time before Tolbold and I had set off to find the others, it was home. Tired was not half of it, we were all shattered beyond belief, an all I could think of was a nice bath, dinner, supper and bed. I am sure the others felt the same. What a journey we had been on, us and them Elves, but all was well now. Them bad men were no more, and we could live in peace. Or so we all hoped.

Tollu at the Door

Tollu had been having a solitary half in the Bent Elbow. He still had lots to think about, not the least what he was going to do about Murdo, when he heard a sudden cheer and several voices raised from outside. A few paetrons turned their heads, but most thought any good news would doon gravitate to the Inn, so they would know all about it.

But for Tollu it was like the knell of a bell. Good news, oh to be sure, but he had so much explaining to do.

He hesitated.

"Tolbold, is it really you?"

"Henepa, we have all missed you"

We three huddled around the small, warming fire, wrapped in blankets and winter cloaks. It would take a little more time, but already Estarfin was shivering less. The precious miruvor was doing its work.

He was not always known by that name. He was born with another, which he kept behind a veil of shame. The son of a travelling smith and merchant of unknown lineage, who made his home in Bree-land. His mother and younger sister completed their small, ever-wandering family.
