Taking on too much

There's a little bit of good news, two things actually, but I feel almost too tired to celebrate them.

I imagine like I shouldn't so stretched thin and wore out as I do. All I'm doing is the same work Miss Brynleigh done afore I were her apprentice, and not even all of it, since there's no foaling or training to do just now. Though now I think on it she did have a stable-boy to help some the time even afore I came on. Plus I'm doing rounds to tend Rascal and Snow and Biscuit, and I'm going to Hengstacer for a few hours of lessons every couple days, and I'm also still doing sword training every few days. So I suppose it makes more sense, but still, feels like I'm more wore out than I ought to be from what I'm doing. I stopped making my own meals and just buy something at the Pony or the Turtle, and of course I'm not going up to see Beoda as she's too busy anyhow, and I haven't spent any time on archery practice, or collecting bounties, or reading or writing practice either. But that's all as I can think to do, to not feel so tuckered. Wish I could get better sleep at night.

Maybe when I find Miss Inayat and find out how much help she can offer I'll get a little chance to catch up, or if she can't, I'll be able to hire a stable-boy after all. Better if this happens soon on account last time I were up the Cob farm, Miss Heulyn said they thought they'd be done with this work in a few more days, so I might get to see Beoda a little bit again, and I'm sure looking forward to that.

The other bit of good news come from Miss Adri. I told her about Miss Brynleigh and how that means she got to take Bogo home on her own, and settle things with Citrina Brockhouse; and I feel bad about that, as we was all going to go together, and I were looking forward to it, and now it's more like some work she got to do than it is a pleasant journey with friends. She says as she's going to share some of what Citrina pays her, but with her doing most the work, and this last part all of it, and since I already got my wine-glasses -- not that they been used yet -- all I was asking was repayment for the cost of Seed-Cake, the pony I got for Bogo.

Anyhow that's not the good news as she had. Seems she were looking at maps and saw as there's another pass that we could take to get to the Dwimordene and on to the Mark, that's a lot straighter a road, to save us some time. More than that, it's better in a lot of other ways. It's farther south and not as high, so it's like to be clear of snow soon, if it's not already. There's less likely to be orcs and suchlike in it. And because of that, the Beornings don't patrol it, so there's no toll. Which means even if going that way needs more supplies or costs some in other ways, either way, I might end up with a pretty full pouch of coin. Enough to buy a horse and such for the return, and to buy the house when I get back. Miss Adri wants me to ask Miss Cesistya about something she called Carrot-thras or something like that, which was either the name of the pass, or a mountain, or something. Hopefully she'll know what Miss Adri meant.
