The Lord and Lady of the Elves were very kind to me , but I was really scared to have to climb to high in the trees to go and meet them , for they live on top of the tallest tree in Lorien. Although they look kind and gently, they do not smile much...

A postcard for family and friends :

Greetings and  my love to all of you from Caras Galadhon

All is well with me but I may need to rest a few days

One of my boots has a hole in the sole ( I need to fix that )

'Welcome!' said the elf in the common language with a strong Sindarin accent, ' We had news of your coming from massagers of Lord Elrond - your arrival was expected. Come, rest and be at peace in the Realm of The Blossom.'

Oh Mirrormere, fair and wonderful..and a bit wet -- here lies The Crown of Durin until he wakes up again.

There are no better beards than their beards, always ready to go turtle's hunting or orcs fancy dress parties...ooh the adventures we had, me and the beards.

And so I came to  the other side of Moria and the mountain - It had been an incredible adventure filled with dwarven songs, tales and ale, butterflies and glowing crystals, giant turtles  ( the dwarves apparently LOVE turtle soup ) and bedbugs, of course.

'The end comes soon. We hear drums, drums in the deep. They are coming.' Such was my admiration and respect for the dwarves so brave and strong, ready to die to defend their homes, I felt silent by the tomb of Balin, son of Fundin, Lord of Moria.

It is quite amazing how much beauty can be found hidden away under the mountains, and I am glad I can be here now, today, a small hobbit hidden away from everything but still remembering how to be a real hobbit with a real hobbit heart .
