Discarding the Disguise

One inside the Brigand inhabited ruins, the three Elves make steady progress at dispatching those men nearest the gate. They clear the next courtyard before climbing to the battlements. With the Brigands aware they are under attack, the Elves discard the foul cloaks they used, and make their way through the rest of the castle. Although Estarfin is slightly wounded by an arrow shot, they all complete their selfappointed quest on behalf of the Halflings.

While Estarfin keeps watch of the ruined castle, Parnard and Danel search for suitable Men's clothing with which to temporarily disguise themselves. The ploy worked to their advantage at Dol Guldur several years ago. The only problem is finding any men outside the ruins.

Fortunately Parnard explores around a wolf den, and the Elves find a few recent corpses with salvageable, if smelly, items that will serve them well enough to gain admittance.

Spirits of Fire : Part One

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

We Noldor are oft associated with Fire. True enough, we are a fiery folk, some little less than our King of old. Spirit of Fire, he. Spirits of fire many of the rest of us. But fire is two sided, both creative and destructive. And some adhere more to one facet than the other.

So we rode down from the brigand's camp a short time after Parnard departed. Swan-hoof would not have been able to carry Estarfin, so it was Pelorian with me, or he walked home. I would not have the latter.

Henepa looked Tolbold straight in the eye, and waved a finger in front of his nose. “Tolbold Tatersfield, if even half of what yer told us that Lady and Lord said is true, yer would have known that the Estarfin was no demon from the start. You lads, walk around with yer eyes closed. Any one of us lasses would have told yer, him’s just protecting his Lady.” the tavern keep sighed and looked a bit wistful.

How Legends Begin

Tolbold Tatersfield almost swaggered as he walked into the ‘Elbow’s Bend’, nodding greetings to familiar faces, and noting with a hint of pride how most of the others stood back for him to approach the bar.

He winked  at Henepa, ‘A tall glass fer me, and one fer Sarno, if yer don’t mind.”

It is his Choice to Make.

'I do not think Parnard understands our warnings," Estarfin said as he looked out over the bay.

I nodded my head. I thought the same. "I do not know how the sea longing affects the Nandor or Avari, only that many of the Noldor and Sindar feel the call. It is a dangerous choice for him to make. But if he does decide to come here, I will not stand in his way."

Estarfin turned his head slightly, to watch a ship in the distance.

"No, it is his choice to make." he added.

And so it was.

Returning to Ered Luin, Danel and Parnard pass by the camp at some distance. Tolbold seemed to think there were about fifty Men still there, though he was more precise about stolen food. The Elves can see movement, but also that the ruins go across the hilltop for some distance.

Talking with Tobold

Danel wants to reassure the Hobbit villagers they have nothing to fear from her and her friends. Parnard escorts her, and fortunately is on fine form with his persuasive words when they encounter Assistant Shirriff, Tolbold Tatersfield. The Hobbit claims he has several armed Bounders hidden nearby, with their arrows trained on the elves. They are looking for the blood covered Dark Rider who left a pile of bodies for them to tidy up. But Tolbold also tells them the Brigands steal their food and laundry. Any help on that front will be appreciated.
