Third Age

Duality of light

"I have heard so many stories about the light of the Two Trees of Valinor, how twice a day the golden and silver light mingled in a single hue at noon and sunset... it happens too with the Sun and Moon but I wonder how pale of a reflection it is to that ancient light. Yet, I would not trade them for any tree in the world. Their pale light is what I have always known, and cherish."

"There are no clouds in Lorien, not during the day, nor during the night, no rain or fog but an ever present golden halo that turns the sky into molten gold. Such is the power of the Lady"

Raft in a bottle

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Earcalie was rummaging in a big, heavy house chest made of oak and lined with iron studs. She seized the small room in the mansion that had once been her father's workshop, still filled with stacked construction materials, half finished projects and other memorabilia. Against one of the walls, a number of shelves hosted a collection of fancy ships inside bottles of various shapes and looks; mostly elven but also a few of old numenorian make and even a Dalish knarr. What Earcalie was searching for however, was none of those.

Very few places I've seen with a sky as blue as I Drann, or the Shire as the periannath call it. It reflects their inhabitants way of life: bright, happy, without a care in the world. Even the clouds are brighter

Ithilien, start of the Fourth Age

"What is your favorite color?"

"Eh?" Earcalie blinked, taken back in the real world from her reverie by Inweth's words. They were enjoying a light meal watching the sun set, sitting atop Henneth Annun's rocky outcrop. Below them, a sea of green dotted by the yellow Culumalda trees. "Mine is green" said the gardener elleth. As if that wasn't obvious... the other one thought, but didn't say out loud

It is a wonder how the sky can appear so different depending on where I am. The sky is one yet assumes so many colors, I can never know what I'll be looking at when I lift my gaze upwards. Here in Enedwaith, it seems gentle tones of rose gold dominate the late evening as the sun goes down, and the clouds like violet flowers

"It always amazes me how a still body of water can reflect the sky as if the most perfect mirror... just like today. Looking at it from the beach it truly felt like I could swim in a sea of clouds"

And flowers shall bloom

Once a harbour for last journeys, abandoned for a thousand years after Amroth's tragedy, thanks to a few Elves' care now Edhellond blooms with flowers as a new age dawns

Cotton Candy

I cannot stay still in one place too long. The wind takes me everywhere, even in the far reaches of this Middle Earth. I've been to the southern cape of Umbar once, where I was able to add more patterns to my chart of the currents and cumulonembi dominate the sky... although I prefer to call them cotton candy.... it's a better name and it fits!
