Wyld Hunt

A neatly geared traveler from Bree pinned a short notice to the board at Thorin's Hall. The message was soliciting Longbeards for a journey with supposedly a noble cause.

There were many dwarves around, which gave Freddie confidence in finding the right candidates for their trip. Next stop for her would be the tavern - it was time to sample the local brews that Svaroh recommended! 

A letter delivered to Svaroh's residence at Thorin's Hall by the local Ered Luin messenger, supposedly arriving from Ered Luin's Wyld Hunt Den, but clearly originating from Rivendell.

The day started well, the sun was high as the pair rode out of the Rangers' encampment at Esteldin and he wondered, his mind dancing amongst questions of sense-experience and existence as it often did. The old fortress was not mentioned in the scrolls. The place was large and well fortified, clearly a key defense of the old Arthedan kingdoms: a bastion against Angmar. Feaandir thought he recalled several marks on the old maps that might be that city. If only he were back in the Hall's Chart Room!

The sky was turning mauve, the molten lava of the sun disk radiated directly ahead of Fredericka. She could not decide whether she liked it or not: the sunset above the hills of North Downs warmed up the heart with its majesty, yet the sun was blinding, and with Fornost ahead, she felt like she could use her vision better. She feared what number and sort of creatures can come out of Fornost. Are they too powerful and overwhelming? Tomorrow would show, but for tonight, they were still camping out in the wilderness.
