Background
Laurindis (Sindarin: Glórindis, "Golden-hearted woman" or "The woman of golden light") was a lady of a Vanyarin house, with close family ties to the Ñoldor of Tirion.
One day in darkened Valinor, she was approached by the one she loved with a shocking plan. He had just walked in on Fëanáro's infamous speech and while he wasn't immediately swept up into the fury of those words, they had sparked in him a longing for the lands on the other side of the Belegaer. But - so he told her - he would only journey eastwards if she would accompany him. While she was fearful of his proposition, she shared in his longing, and knew in her heart that their fates were meant to be entwined and were meant to take them both far into the unknown. For this reason she named him from then on Haimarto, "he of far fate."
After much consideration, the pair followed among the tail end of Fingolfin's host, both as the only members of their respective houses.
Once in Middle Earth they dwelt in Vinyamar, where they finally officially married, and then in Gondolin, where they had their first and only child.
Old and new loyalties made it that they aligned themselves with Lord Ecthelion's House of the Fountain. In Gondolin, Laurindis continued her work as a sage, studying the lore of plants, nature, healing, music, song and dance, as well as the languages of Arda, as part of the Lambengolmor.
During the battle that marked the city's end, Laurindis and her husband were slain.
Only after their passage through Mandos and their reunion back in Aman - upon discovering that their young daughter Calanis was nowhere to be found in the entirety of that realm - did they realize that she must have somehow made it out alive.
