Background
Haimarto (Sindarin: Haemarthon, the "far-fated") was a Noldorin lord of Tirion.
His appearance was imposing and stern at first glance, but his calm demeanor would soon enough reveal his gentle nature. Whenever he spoke, his ever-busy, yet steadfast mind would become apparent, as would his curiosity and his preoccupation with nuance and thoroughness.
One dark day in darkened Valinor, the torch-lit commotion of a gathering attracted his curiosity and he caught part of Fëanáro's infamous speech. He wasn't swept up in the fury like those who were there from the beginning, but those fiery words lingered in his mind and sparked an intuitive longing for the lands on the other side of the Belegaer. After much consideration and a sharing of their insights, he and his beloved Laurindis followed among the tail end of Fingolfin's host, both as the only members of their respective houses.
Once in Middle Earth they dwelt in Vinyamar, where they finally officially married, and then in Gondolin, where they had their first and only child. He continued his work as an academic, but also took up arms as a warrior under the banner of the House of The Fountain.
During the battle that marked the city's end, Haimarto and his wife were slain.
Only after their passage through Mandos and their reunion back in Aman - upon discovering that their young daughter Calanis was nowhere to be found in the entirety of that realm - did they realize that she must have somehow made it out alive.
