Letter to Deorla: We need answers

Boss Deorla,

I will cut to the chase. Guriwen simply cannot handle this anymore. If she ever meant anything to you, you will understand. She told you when we first were to set out that she did not feel she was fit to lead this operation, and that was before of all the lies, all the secrecy, the revelation that you murdered one of the Rangers that protected the very guild that was to sell us that lumber. She has left for Bree to gather her thoughts.

I am taking over the lumber business. I gave you my word that we would bring it back, and I intend to keep it. However, we deserve the truth. All of it.

I have come to admire you during my time at the Company, I really have. But I cannot ignore the fact that you have hidden the truth from me. From all of us. You need to come clean, Deo, and face the consequences. If those days are truly behind you, as you claim they are, there is still time to make amends. Do you really wish to live in hiding forever? To be afraid of your own shadow, fearing it might have come to collect your debt?

You must also know that it is no mere Ranger that we encountered, but rather an envoy from the King himself. She even spoke of him as a friend. You sure know where to find your enemies.

You simply must stand down. You will have my full support, and I am willing to testify that you are not the woman you once were. You had better have a VERY good explanation on why you would kill a Dúnadan of the North, or else there is very little anyone can do for you.

The full truth must come out. You must prove that we can trust you. And, most of all, you must prove to Guriwen that rejoining the Company was not a mistake. Things left unsaid are subject to rumour and speculation, which is what brought us here in the first place. I really hope you make the right call.

Alairif Nordhcoll.
