The exiles of the Ñoldor, and the founding of Nost Giliath
It was the year 1500, during the years of the trees, the exile of the Ñoldor, made their way through the great colds of Helcaraxë, when from icy mists, a figure appeared. For days, Malwion, (His first given name, for his skin and his hair were pale, so were his eyes, in which a reflection of the stars could be seen) went into the icy cold mists of Helcaraxë, to find a company of missing Ñoldo. He appeared like a ghost, his bright white hair flowing in the wind, his silver-blue eyes were focused on lord Fingolfin, whom Malwion had followed loyal, into Helcaraxë to arrive in the lands of Middle earth. Belegaer roared through its waves of cold ice, and it silenced the voices of the Ñoldor, who were caught by surprise by Malwion’s appearance. Behind him, walked a portion of the company that went missing, among them was Tinwendil, and Faenwe, Malwion’s elder, and three other Ñoldo. Faenwe spoke to the battalion before him and he said, ‘From this moment on, he shan’t be known as Malwion, but as Belegring, for he endured the great cold of the Helcaraxë.’, and the elves cheered for Belegring, for he had given hope to the exile of the Ñoldor. They continued into the shivering waste of Helcaraxë, valorous they fought the cold and they resisted, unlike Elenwë, who had fallen into bitter water that covered her with ice. Turgon tried to save her, but alas. Elenwë had fallen and from that day forth, the battalion that followed king Turgon, was drenched in sorrow, they shivered with every step, and more Ñoldo fell to the dangerous colds, until at last they arrived in Middle-Earth. As they arrived the moon rose to the sky, and Fingolfin’s host met that of Morgoth, and then came the Battle of the Lammoth where they learned of the tidings of Dagor-nuin-Giliath, and the wounding of Fëanor, leading to his death. Fingolfin’s son, Argon had died valorously slaying the Orc-Captain, his noble deed granted Fingolfin’s host the means to overpower the orcs, and they pursued them into defeat until they reached the region of Mithrim, as the sun first rose. In Mithrim, they set up camp, however they left shortly after, due to the presence of the followers of Fëanor. The years of the trees had come to pass, the First Age had begun.
In 64th year of the First Age, the city of Gondolin started being built. Faenwe still resided within the valley of Tumladen. In the 47th year of that age, Belegring, son of Faenwe, was blessed with his first son, whom he had named Malwion, after his own first given name. Faenwe and the children of Faenwe assisted building the city which came completed, the 116th year of the First Age. They then moved into the city, which was a formidable construction, towering white walls, and its most beautiful construction were Glingal and Belthil, trees of gold and silver in memory of the two trees of Valinor.
