I have been keeping to myself the past few days. After the incident at the river with Gregwald, I haven't been eager to go out and possibly run into him. Lumina came by to visit and discuss news of her new beau and she seemed so incredibly excited about everything. I'm happy for her, and incredibly jealous. Miss Eugenie has been bringing my meals to my room, and she's convinced that I'm with child. I couldn't think of a more laughable situation to be in, and certainly, one that isn't possible. My friend came to visit me a few hours after she had left, and she was in a right state. I let her stay for a while, but she eventually decided to mosey on home.
A letter from Gregwald came for me first thing this morning. I have to admit, I felt immense relief when I read it. He'd be dropping his work at the Inn. I don't know what happened there, and I don't think I'm ever going to know about it. I'm just glad to be done with it and send him on his way. I would never wish any ill towards anyone, and I hope he finds work somewhere else. But I am so glad to be able to walk into the Inn without feeling anxious and worried. I don't think I should feel that way in my own Inn, and I had woke up with the intention to do the very thing he did. He beat me to it, and I reckon I should be thankful, means I didn't have to.
He seems to think that men are allowed to do whatever they want, but that girls have to only act one way. I don't like people like that, and I don't want to be around them.
Fenley wrote as well and said that he's coming back to Bree in the next few days. Miss Eugenie and I have gotten to work, cleaning anything that looks less than spotless and making sure that we'll have his favorite foods. Thistle has hired a young man named Woodston to deliver fresh game to the Inn twice a week, but I have yet to meet him. She got all starry-eyed when she talked about him, which is a look I don't think I've ever seen on Thistle's face before. He's already delivered a few birds and a whole boar, and Miss Eugenie made a really good stew. I'll have to ask him to bring a deer, that is Fenley's favorite.
