Thistle has lived in Bree for her entire life. She was born in Bree and grew up in Bree, and has never gone further than Trestlebridge or The Forsaken Inn. She's content, mostly, to remain where she is and work as a cook in a kitchen for the rest of her life. Traveling terrifies her, and as such she doesn't put much thought into it. As a young girl, her mother worked as a healer and her father was a regular drunk at the Combe and Wattle and when he wasn't at his full time job, he was a woodworker at the lumber mill. Thistle grew up raising her five younger siblings. She started working at a new Inn in the neighborhood where she lived, and stayed there for several years until the Inn was closed for good.

Her father drunk himself into a stupor and choked on his own vomit one night, and Thistle's mother immediately remarried a man in town. He owned an ale brewery and he was pretty well off, causing Thistle's mother to quit her job. But while her father was a drunk, her stepfather was a violent drunk, and it wasn't more than a few months later when he killed her during one of his rages. After being executed, Thistle was left to raise her five siblings by herself. When she wasn't working at the Inn, she turned to prostitution to help keep her family fed, and while the second eldest stayed home to watch the babies, she was joined at the Inn by two of her siblings. All three of them were out of work when it closed.

But now with her brother off in Trestlebridge for a job, Thistle is often stretched thin between finding time to work and finding time to care for the youngest siblings she has.

Thistle tragically died when she was eighteen years old.
