The Black Steel gained horses as reward for getting the supplies back. Gaeded's was the one that always rode into battle first, the Reeve said, before it's previous master died. She rode around the training track with the horse, trying to think of a name for him. Athlenah and Caithryth tried to think of a name also, but Gaeded eventually decided to name her horse after Grimbold, who was a mighty eorling lord, whose camp she stayed in after escaping capture in Dunland and there was treated for the injuries that Pren inflicted upon her.
