The blonde scout pondered and wrote by the waning light of their campfire.
Leoffrith and I had a good little talk. Crossing the Limlight and leaving the Mark proper did hit him as hard as it looked like. We talked over aspects of how we're both hurting. I think we did each other some good. We agreed to keep speaking in Rohirric until we cross the Redhorn Pass, and on the Eregion side, we'll go back to Westron. That's almost too bad, considering I'm probably easier to understand in Rohirric – but then, too few people back near Bree speak it.
He said we need time to let us feel better. Probably so for him, but I'm not so sure for me. The more time that passes with Wendy in some Easterling camp, the worse things will be, I'm sure. That's eating at me with every league further away. And yet, I'm sure they didn't just keep her, or their other captives, right there at that camp across from Langhold. And that leaves me with nowhere to look, and too many of them looking for scouts like me for me to find out.
We'll be leaving even the area here around Stangard, maybe even getting back to Lothlórien tomorrow, or the day after at the latest. It's just not that much longer until we're in Eregion again, and making our way through that, and some of the Trollshaws, and the Lone-lands, and around the marshes again. It's tempting to ride up to Imladris again – but I did promise to return to Bree, and I have some things for Owena and Audea. Might even be some others who missed me some. I mean, besides them and Marney and my aunt. Maybe Sareva did, and maybe Arelienbur and Cynrien?
Look at me hoping someone missed me. That's being pretty stupid, considering Wendy misses me, and I know that for sure now – but have no way to go to her. For that, I need an army – and I don't see any way I'll get one.
