Journey back to Lothlórien

"Where the roof and floor is wove of gold and too is its pillar of silver. Ere the sun rose, the glinting forest of gold. When the sun fails and night awakes, it glows of pale gold in the moonlight. The clear water of Nimrodel and the music of its falls. The fair flowers of Elanor and Niphredil, you too have a place in my heart. I love thee very much, oh dear Lothlórien."

I was in Eriador, for a long time. Brooding in sadness as a dear friend of mine passed away from the circles of the world. The grief hung lightly now, as it was many days ago. I journeyed with a mutual of friend of ours, Arrowea. We went from Bree and journeyed to Eregion, where we came to the Doors of Durin beside the Black Pool. Then we came in to the dark depths of Moria, or as it is to the dwarves: Khazad-dum. Folly it would seem to many to venture into Moria, indeed it was folly, but it turned out well in the end. A gamble it would seem to me, to go into Moria where the Nameless Fear slept. I could have risked an army of orcs march down upon us, or escape and bring them to Lothlórien . Luckily, my fortune was both bad and good.

We ventured safely and came to the Twenty-First Hall. From there it became more perilous. We battled orcs as we came unto the First Hall. We went around and came to the Bridge of Khazad-Dum and there we rested. We gazed all around us and admired what beauty this ruined city had still. We didn't stay long, for the orcs may come in a larger group, and we were intent to lose our trail.

Not long after, we came to Nanduhirion or Dimrill Dale. We swam and gazed at the clear water of Mirrormere. I swam farther away from Moria and saw a camp of orcs, just outside the eaves of Lothlórien. Though I am sure they were repelled by my people I was afraid, very afraid. Arrowea assured me that it is nothing to be afraid off. I should be quite used to it, as Lothlórien is beset with many dangers, from the orcs of the Moria and of Dol Guldur. I assured myself as The Lady is there, she is very powerful. Powerful enough to keep back the orcs from Lothlorien. Evil cannot come into Lothlórien, of that I am sure, and I reminded myself of that fact.

Afterwards, we continued our journey. We battled a few orcs on the way to the eaves of Lothlórien. As we entered, I took in once more the beauty of Lothlórien. The many years of being sundered from it, dissipated. We explored the land and came to many places I knew and loved. What I loved more was our arrival at Cerin Amroth. Nothing pleased me more than the Elanor and Niphredil surrounding me. I slept there and in bliss at once more being in the fair golden wood, forgetting all other troubles. Arrowea left me to the care of my kin.

However, I could not remain there much longer when the time ran short... I had to leave to join my friends on the other side of the Misty Mountains. It hurts to be sundered once more, but to be sundered from friends is a bigger wound in my heart.

I left away singing in sadness.
