Pocket Journal entry Fourteen, "Falling with the Witch"

*written in poor handwriting, unlike her usual entries* I found her, Nalokha, the red witch, the shadow crown. I was just riding along the greenway. Saw her hoof prints, dead things along her trail. I saw her armor gleaming from the ruins in the distance, she was watching. I'm sure she expected people.

I rode back to the Shadow Blades house and found Abellinda, Fierel, and a few members of the Council of the red dragon. She asked me to send for Acelin and Huldore using a crow, but I guess the message didn't reach them in time. We rode, me, Abellinda, Fierel, and a handful of others. A fellow with a shield was once who I cannot recall the name of, is one who stands out presently in my mind. We went up the stairs, a whole force of us. Nalokha threw an infant at us, the man with the shield spared it's life. We backed Nalokha to the center. Arrows were fired at her, some aura turned them into ash before they touched.

Abellinda rushed her, Pushed Nalokha back against the edge, near myself. My thoughts were rushed, I grabbed the witch. Her touch brought dread over me, I almost felt evil through contact. I threw myself into her, fell off the side of the ruins, a ten foot drop. She grabbed me by the throat, and I knew if she kept hold she would kill me - I cannot resist the darkness of Angmar for too long.

We rolled off the cliff, the shield baring man tried to grab me but ended up falling with us. Nalokha enveloped us in a black aura as we fell, her below me. Our fall was against the cliffside, and perhaps rolling against the side lessened the fall. Nalokha hit the water first, hard and loud. I followed, landed atop her, she broke my fall, perhaps saved my life. The shield man fell behind me, and that is all I knew before I was knocked unconcious. I highly doubt Nalokha survived.

I awoke hacking up water with a man beside me, he probably saved my life, I am not certain. Everything was a daze, I knew there were people all around, but not who they were. I kept saying, I think aloud, "I'm fine, nothing is broken."

I finally made out Abellinda, and used her as a crutch until she pulled me on the back of her horse. I started to remember what was what, and what just happened about halfway back to the house. She laid me in bed, said I'd live (basically) and left me be.. Been a few hours now.. My head and chest are still killing me..
