But finally, Berandon thought he had gotten the estate agent’s fiancée on the right track. At least she had taken to wander around in circles in front of the agency when she was not otherwise occupied during the day.

In addition the strong blueberry juice had stained his lips and gums a most unbecoming black. And he had no money with which to travel or laundry. Berandon wept in despair. He would have to continue his journey out of the sight of others or die of shame.

Barliman is a kind soul, for all his fluster. I have a little space in the Pony's hayloft, warm from the horses below and sweet with the scent of this summer's hay. The baby-season is here, and so I will take a few weeks in Bree. A rest from wandering, although not from work. In the dark of winter there is little to do at night to amuse man and wife ... and so, the results appear now, nine months on. They never realised what the cost this might bring. His burial seemed so peaceful, as if nothing could disturb this. No one said a word, they just looked at the grave. They didn't need to. The words could never come near to what I see on their faces.

She passed the guarded entrance and made her way to the stables. She knew that there is no need for her to leave her steed behind. Still Kuzgun felt like to have a little walk amongst the streets of the town once more.

“Behave” she whispered her bad tempered companion and warned in a serious tone “no more biting!”
