The Mathom leaves Bree (The Mathom Part2)

Druda awoke early and quickly packed her belongings, making sure the small wooden box containing the recovered necklace was buried safely at the bottom of her pack. Entry and exit from Bree was controlled by the four large gates in the towns’ wall. Druda was keen to keep a low profile following the events in the Prancing Pony the previous night so had decided to leave via a slightly different route. Her rooms in the Mudgate district of Bree had been chosen carefully.

The door was as still.

It did not shift one bit, nor did anyone come inside. Quite an unusual fact for the Prancing Pony, taking in regard it was one of the few attractions found in Bree, if not the only one. Even stranger, one would think, since it was the rush hour. The inn was filled with the humming sound of speech, resembling a beehive. At least two dozens of travellers had walked through the threshold in the past hour, but now the doorknob seemed as if it had frozen in place for eternity.

The morning chorus is all that can be heard in Bree as I make my way to collect the items I agreed to bring to the Market in Combe. I arrive outside the mess hall where the good Lady is waiting several large piles of clothing neatly stacked await transport.

While carrying the clothing we talk quietly although it is not long before we sight folk also heading to the market. I chuckled as she apologised for amount needing carrying I simply dismissed her worries and thanked her for an opportunity to repay her.

A chance meeting..

I have been in Bree a few months.. there is much need here and while I have little in the way of coin, I have tried to help where I can. Chance took it recently while in the Prancing Pony I happened upon a Minstrel a Lady of Song and Harp..

I listened a good while, some of the melodies I recognised.. it was then I realised this was the Sister Drimmeth had spoken of. I waited till she was done and then enquired, it was not long before we were talking and upon revealing my friendship with Drimmeth her curiosity was peaked.

Of Travels, Dwarves, Men, Elves, Hobbits, And Ale

Story

Tahitoa the hunter spent many weeks on the road, passing through a region they called the Trollshaw, with a rather noisy and rude caravan of dwarves heading west.  As they were coming out of the foothills, they passed  some elves camps and the dwarves became even more outspoken in their strange language, using words that Tahi did not know, and was to scared to ask about, though he was quite sure such words were directed to the elves.

Dear diary,

A couple of days ago, I was at the Prancing Pony during the evening.

At some point I stood outside on my usual spot. I saw a man, and when he came closer to me I recognized Khandaris.

We went inside for a drink. We talked for some time, and had a few laughs.

A hit of luck?

Another day in the Pracing Pony, standing near the door and peering around like always. Not this time. A tall and muscular man enters the inn and locks his gaze on me. It's my opportunity, he walks towards me and we enstablish a conversation. Something wrong is going on, something is amiss here but I keep calm, I keep speaking to him, not a very long conversation and not much words required for it, all I know his name is Finn,... Finn. We head to the backrooms for a while and after a short period of time, I get very well paid. A gold coin!
