He was a little child when his father died. His mother was broken by the information, and died of grief a little time later. He was raised by Maedhros's people, who were close to his family. As soon as he understood what had happened to his parents, he started the training to become a soldier. As his lust for revenge diminished, his love for Middle-earth increased, and for that he kept fighting.

  He has seen much battle, but has never been the one to lead, except in the most desperate situations. When Beleriand sunk, he remained in Lindon with Gil-galad - he did not want to leave Beleriand, the land that he loved so much. After the War of the Last Alliance he stayed in Imladris and begun a more peaceful life - until it was time again of war.
