Knight of the Wold, CEO of the "Company of the East Road"
Bree & Rohan
Archet? “F**k Archet”’, Furley would say. Full of backwards, inward-thinking people that couldn’t see trouble beyond their own front door. And Brackenbrook? Don’t get started on that incompetent, arrogant fool. He’s let the brigands in the Chetwood run wild, and this was the result.
After Furley’s actions in Archet, he was promoted to Captain of the Bree-Guard, but it was more a burden than an honour. However, his station was short-lived after his second-in-command, Deorla, murdered a ranger on his watch, and Furley was demoted, disgraced and dispelled from the Watch, no thanks to Heathstraw, a man he'd almost reviled.
Taking his anger south in pursuit of the threat from the southerners, he stumbled into the war in Rohan, and there he grew into the man he is today, earning the title "Knight of the Wold" as he did so, before taking an almost-fatal spear wound that brought him back home.
Now, though he still dreams most nights of the fire in Archet, he's chosen to stay north, and heads the Company of the East Road, trying to build a thriving trading empire that stretches beyond the north.
