Raymond Arnell is a rather successful merchant. He knows a good deal when he sees one, and is rather well known in the business realm. ((his name would probably pop up a lot on contracts, bills, etc. Feel free to recognize it.))

Though they were not rich, his family had enough to hire a tutor for Raiimond. He was instructed by this tutor until the age of 16, when he went to study with the scholars at the Scholar's Stair Archives. During this time, he also apprenticed under a local merchant, learning tricks of the trade. Not that he needed much teaching, he was an apt businessman. In just thirteen years, he has become one of the most successful merchants of the age. Goods that have passed under his care can be found as far north as Thorin's Hall, and as far south as Gondor.

A voracious reader, he is familiar with many old tales and stories.

He loves to travel. His wealth has allowed him much freedom to gallivant about the countryside on expeditions.

He isn't afraid to use less-than-legal means if he feels it is necessary.

He has recently taken a position as Master of Trade and adviser to House Blackfyre.
