Background
Alwine comes from Faldham, a village in the Norcrofts, where he worked as a blacksmith like his father before him. For many years he worked loyally for Thane Elfhelm, but he is now fighting with Prince Théodred in the Westfold. Recently Alwine was sent by Elfhelm's son, Elfmar, the acting Thane of Faldham, to aid his brother in law, the Reeve of Snowbourn who is wed to his sister, Elflád. Thus he currently lives and works in Snowbourn, shoeing horses and making weapons for the Éored of Fastred Reeve and the Fyrd of Snowbourn.
