"Moonray" as spoken in the language of men.

Background

Alandes, the Undying

Little is known, and much is told, between the free peoples in Bree Land about the mysterious Undying Champion who travels between the Shire and Bree Land.

For sure he never spoke about it and every attempt to ask him about his past received always a rude interruption. The only thing that is known is that he was born in Gondor.

His was first known from the people of Bree Land as the Midgwater Spectre. Some men were in trouble in Staddle, and when Alandes replied their plea, was already in the appearance of a scarred veteran. His rough armor was a mere shadow of his original form and his body was severed by scars. Nevertheless the Champion ventured forth. For three days no one saw him and the people of Staddle pledged in the Bree town all for some help. When the garrison of Bree arrived into the village, they saw Alandes standing in the middle of it, looking at the campfire, with at least 20 heads of goblins in his hands. No one talked, everyone were looking at the silent Champion. He turned to the garrison Captain only asking provisions for some days  prior walking away.

From there no one saw him anymore for a week.

When the rumors of wight in barrow downs became object of curiosity, the Champion appeared at the barrow entrance. The men there discouraged him to venture forth, but He did not listen. After some time, the Knight appeared with an artifact that was belonging to the scariest wight that infest that land. The men start to recognize him as a worthy warrior.  Wherever he was going the men and women were trying to look for him. He was blessed with a strong will and charity, always seeking to aid those in need. There were also rumors of miracles, but they could be considered also mere legends invented by the townsfolk to jeopardize their need of heroes.

After many deeds in Bree Land, the warrior ventured into Chetwood. The patrol there recognized him but warned in the meantime regard the monsters that inhabit the place. No one, was said, came back if ventured forth.

Fearless, the Champion urged his horse ahead and galloped inside the forest. After some days he emerged changed: his face was changed in something that remembered the statues of the old Dunedain kings, and he was surrounded by an aura of courage. Those who were near him could percept the might  and   force of the Champion. The most interesting  thing was the write on his forehead... An elvish language tattoo... or theorically was said so... Alandes went back to Bree and asked to the Mayor for a map of the surrounding lands. The Mayor was reticent at beginning but after a brief discussion he conceded the warrior what he pledged.

"So you will go deep in your search, will ya?"

"Yes"

"The free peoples needs you here"

"I have been called elsewhere by someone who is more important than us..."

The last words....

The old scroll covered by dust got his seal broken. As soon as you open it the calligraphy is the first thing: it's elvish.

My lady

I have received news that our Champion is venturing inside the Northen Downs.

Many of our scouts saw him salying the three main orcish encampments.

He remained in Meluinen for about two days and then ventured forth Dol Dinen. Honestly I find without many reasons the acts which this man is making. He speaks sometimes in and incompressible language, maybe which is not belongings to the races we know. Ishall investigate further if He'll be back...

My personal guard reported me that this man, Alandes, Destroyed Umruk the Defiler in the fields of Fornost, charging him while crying out "Oromë"

Possible that a man knows such things? I will keep my eyes widely opened on that Champions, for I believe He is leading a personal crusade in the name of something that we still Ignore... May the Valanar protect us all..."
