I admit, at first it un-nerved me. A tree, with eyes peering out of its bark, like two blinking knot-holes in its wood, branches moving like true limbs... and a laugh from what I suppose was a mouth. But then, I think.. a dog can blink, and laughter is no sign of intelligence. Even an adle-pated fool can laugh.

I have finished the dress for mother now.

She has not yet tried it on, but I think it will fit her nicely. It is, as she requested, a simple thing in the Bree-land style and without too much frippery or anything to denote her origin. I wonder how well she will manage to conceal that from the local people. She is, after all, a proud tribeswoman, completely unashamed of her ancestry.

Tagos was a 'foundling' raised by humans on the northern fringes of Mirkwood. In his 20th year orcs destroyed the village and he became a wanderer who after many years settled in Imladris. With the arrogance of youth he does not care. He holds the Noldor who bought down the Curse and enmeshed the people's of Middle Earth in its web as ultimately responsible for all that has happened.

Father, I hope and trust this letter finds you well and that your stand against the evil that has beset our beloved home is not in vain. I have finally reached the great mountains and joined the Dwarven expedition into Moria. Many of our kin have answered there call to assist them reclaim the mines but alas the cost has been heavy many have perished. Men, Elves Dwarves and even the little folk from the Shirelands have stood side by side in the struggle in this dark place.. perhaps even here when the price is so high hope blossoms as the free folk of this land stand together.
