Entry Four.
A Terrible Fate
(The entry seems to be rather sloppy, as if scribbled quickly.)
I've got quite a story to tell you this evening, Mother. Let me start at the beginning before I lose my temper. I followed Edstan out a few days ago, and was recently caught by some elves as I was about to take a nap by my makeshift campsite. I was taken to their camp, where I was 'greeted' by more then a dozen angry-looking elves. I was relieved of my weapons, and was accused of being a spy. It was all quite wonderful. I should've realized this was the group of elves Edstan mentioned, but I was too stupid to think about it. After a few moments of confusion, a nice women named Erinwyn and Edstan decided to stick up for me. I was still a bit dazed, so I didn't pay attention. A few hours later, I was sleeping in a bedroll.
I'd rather speak no more of that, so instead i'll move on. In the morning, I found out I was being taken to Bree. Erinwyn and the Mean Elf Lady were fighting. Eventually we started back on the road, and we came to the destroyed bridge. All the elves got out, and started shovelling mud to get the wagons through the small trench. I chatted with a rather odd Dwarf while waiting. We made it past, and camped at the top of a small hill over-looking the Marshes. I was staring at the landscape, before the Mean Elf Lady came up to me and started telling me about how jealous Erinwyn was. Truthfully, I wasn't so sure about the whole elven city deal. I was just grateful for the shiny things, and free food. I shouldn't have been such an idiot. I suppose if my throat is slit by an elven blade as I sleep tonight, I made the wrong choice.
As the Mean Elf Lady started fighting with the Nice Human Lady, Edstan poked me and dragged me off to the side while everyone was watching those two. He yelled at me as he normally does, but it was worse this time. I'd rather not write it down. My apologies, Mother. It basically ended with me following Edstan through the swamp. His plan was to fake my death. That way, I could be back in Bree, and those elves would be none the wiser. We reached the entrance to Bree, and that bastard tried to offer me money. Like -I- needed -his- help! I bet he does that to all the other girls he lures out with promises of adventure and love glory! Just toss them some gold coins, and go about your bloody day like nothing ever happened! I never asked for his help, and I don't need it!
I'm sorry Mother, I shouldn't get off topic. My story is probably boring you to death at this point. I watched him walk back to the swamp, as I myself turned towards the pony. I did miss Bree a bit, but the feeling quickly wore off. I went to the pony, and spent most of my remaining coin on that odd drink Butterbur sells way overpriced. It tasted bubbly. I'm..not sure what happened after that, but I woke up in my old spot behind the Pony. I got my horse from that new stable across from the Pony, and started the long ride home. I -did- miss my house. Everything was in order, except some of the lesser-used furniture was kind of dusty. I'll have to clean tomorrow. But before I clean, i'm going to go advertising for some sort of..trainer..or something. I need to learn some new things for my new plan. I've got to change. I'm going to have to use a good sum of my coin to purchase a decent set of chainmail, and some new weapons, since that devil of an elf still has my stuff. The only tough part will be finding someone to teach me everything i'll need to know...
It won't be a problem. It may take awhile, it may be tiring, a waste of time, or even completely stupid, but I have to show them i'm not just some moronic girl getting into trouble all the time. I need to do this, Mother.
I need to do this.
